Joshua is due to face Usyk for a second time after losing his WBA, WBO, IBF and IBO belts on an unanimous points decision at the Tottenham Hotspur stadium in September last year.

Froch – who is a former Super Middleweight champion – says AJ must be ‘more aggressive’ and use his size and strength against Usyk to be in with a chance of winning their blockbuster bout.

Froch – who is a former Super Middleweight champion – says AJ must be ‘more aggressive’ and use his size and strength against Usyk to be in with a chance of winning their blockbuster bout

Speaking to Boxing Social, Froch said: ‘Everyone’s already said it, but he’s the bigger stronger man so if he can he can use those attributes he can get the win.’

Froch went on to add: ‘The first thing he needs to do before he gets in that ring is get his head sorted out.’

‘I don’t think he should have left Rob McCracken but this change might do him good because it might just reignite something and get him thinking differently – get him a little bit more aggressive.’

Joshua parted ways with McCracken (left) following his loss to Usyk last September

AJ decided to partner with Robert Garcia (right) – who is a highly-decorated Mexican-American coach with a catalogue of world champions on his CV

‘He needs to get his head right and start to believe in himself, otherwise it’s going to go wrong for him.’

Joshua parted company with McCracken on a definitive basis earlier this summer and turned to Robert Garcia, the highly-decorated Mexican-American coach with a catalogue of world champions on his CV.

The British heavyweight boxer has previously said that branching out with Garcia has helped him prepare well for the fight that will take place in Saudi Arabia on August 20.

Barry Mcguigan is also hopeful AJ will be more aggressive in his re-match with Usyk

Barry Mcguigan is also hopeful AJ will be more aggressive in his re-match with Usyk – claiming he’s got ‘the physicality to win it’ but needs to get his tactics right’.

The Irish promoter and former professional boxer said: ‘He’s [Joshua] got the physicality to win it. He’s got to get his tactics right and apply those tactics.’

‘In my mind just go and walk the guy down. Use a solid job, hit him hard to the body then lift your shots up as the fight goes on.’

‘Just grind him down, walk him down, use your physical strength. That’s the way he’s going to win the fight, nothing else. It’s not that complicated.’
